New Delhi: Surprisingly, Vikram Bhatt's ‘Creature 3D' has been taken over by the Homi Adajania's ‘Finding Fanny' despite the former has more number of screens and more importantly, it is in Hindi.
The creature based horror drama on the opening day managed to garner mere Rs 3.24 cr nett in India while the movie based on a road trip did better business collecting Rs 5.1 cr on Friday, according to the Bollywood website Koimoi.
Creature 3D that stars Bipasha Basu as the leading protagonist was given thumps down by critics all over. Vikram Bhatt who has given a blockbuster like Raaz and a hit like 1920, donned director's hat after two years but couldn't terrify the audience despite his forte in horror genre.
The flick is mostly performing in single screen theatres while a low rush is witnessed in multiplexes.
Finding Fanny, a comedy drama was released in both Hindi and English and is mostly doing well in urban circuits. While the movie had a big star-cast namely Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia, the good music and positive reviews worked in favor of the film.
However, had the movie made in Hindi, the outcome at box office would have been different. Its English version is the reason why the movie has been mostly considered for a niche audience.
But nevertheless, Finding Fanny is going to lead ahead this week for its comedy genre. The weekend collection is expected to grow while the weekday's collection will be lower comparatively.
Next Friday, once again, there will be two flicks facing off each other. On one side it will be Parineeti-Aditya's ‘Daawat-e-Ishq,' while on the other side we'll have Sonam-Fawad's ‘Khoobsurat'.
Both of the films have good content but which among the two will win the battle at the box office, we'll have to wait and watch for that!
