With one blockbuster behind her and another film ready for release, Asin Thottumkal is having a dream time in Bollywood but the Southern beauty says she is "clueless" when it comes to the industry gossip.
With one blockbuster behind her and another film ready for release, Asin Thottumkal is having a dream time in Bollywood but the Southern beauty says she is "clueless" when it comes to the industry gossip.
Asin, who will next be seen in 'London Dreams' opposite Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan, was initially linked to Khan. However, latest rumours suggest that their friendship has turned sour but the actress dismisses such claims in an exasperated tone.
"Oh, what a rubbish! I don't even want to respond to something like that. First they link me to Salman and now they have come out saying that I had a huge fight with him and we are not on talking terms," Asin told PTI in an interview over phone from Mumbai.
The actress, who considers herself "God's favourite child" to have good projects and support in Bollywood despite being new, find such stories "bothersome".
"I will be lying if I say that I am least bothered by this stories. It is a little annoying but I don't take them too seriously to affect me. I am clueless about this whole thing but I think it is somebody's imagination, who could not write a Bollywood script," she says.
The 24-year-old beauty, who started her Bollywood journey playing the bubbly, soft-hearted Kalpana in Aamir Khan starrer 'Ghajini', is playing a dancer in 'London Dreams', which releases October 30.
"It is my first out and out Bollywood movie. Ghajini was my first Hindi film but it was a remake of my own South movie. But 'London Dreams' has a complete Bollywood cast and crew," Asin says.
The actress does not like to call her role in 'London Dreams' as "glamorous" but agrees that it a deviation from her middle class character in 'Ghajini.
"I play a dancer, who is part of a music band called 'London Dreams'. It is a deviation from my role in Ghajini. She is a modern girl, who has been born and brought up in London but has Indian roots," Asin says about the role.
The film, which has been directed by Vipul Shah, is a love-triangle, which revolves around five band members struggling to chart out their musical success in London.
Asin, whose character's name is Priya in the film, says that shooting for the film along with Ajay and Salman was a "a nice big party".
"Salman and Ajay are not only good human beings but great professionals as well and both of them get along like house on fire. They made things easy for me and other people. Shooting for the film was like a nice big party and I sure the chemistry and the camaraderie will reflect on screen," says the actress.
Asin is not too keen to talk about her future projects saying "maybe some other time" but reports have already confirmed that she will be working with Abhishek Bachchan in Ashutosh Gowarikar's next 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se'.
The actress, who has already found a place in Mumbai, says her journey in the industry has been fabulous.
"It has been fabulous. It makes me feel like I am God's favourite child for the wonderful opportunity that has landed my way. Aamir gave me a good start in Bollywood with a great film and I am following it with Salman and Ajay starrer," she says.
Asin's next wish is to work with two other Khan's --Shah Rukh and Saif Ali-- in the industry.
"I call it two wickets down two more to go. I will love to work with Shah Rukh and Saif. I have done a commercial with Saif but hopefully we work together in a film," she adds. PTI
