Fawad Khan not to star Ram Lakhan remake
New Delhi: Bollywood was abuzz with the news that Fawad Khan has been confirmed for the lead role in the remake of Ram Lakhan.
But filmmaker Karan Johar has denied reports of casting Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan in his upcoming production, insisting they are yet to decide on the leading pairs.
Karan is first time teaming up with ‘Chennai Express' director Rohit Shetty, who will be directing the brothers' saga.
"While Rohit and I are extremely excited with the excitement RAM LAKHAN has generated.... We would like to say... IT HAS NOT BEEN CAST!," Karan posted on Twitter.
Rohit is currently shooting Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol starrer "Dilwale" in Mumbai.
Speculations were rife that the 'Zindagi Gulzar Hai'dashing actor will be reprising the character originally played by Anil Kapoor, in ‘Ram Lakhan' remake, but seems that nothing is confirmed yet.
The original cast of movie comprised Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia and Madhuri Dixit Nene, the remake may include Alia Bhatt and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.
Sidharth is likely to play Ram in the movie, while Fawad might be seen as Lakhan. Apparently, Fawad was also offered a cameo in Karan's Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma-starrer upcoming film and the filmmaker was so impressed with the Pakistani actor's work that he offered him Lakhan's role in the Ram Lakhan remake.
The film is a remake of the iconic film directed by Subhash Ghai in 1989 and the songs of the film were a chartbuster composer duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
Fawad Khan impressed women across all age groups as Zaroon in Zindagi's ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai' and went on to sizzle on the silver screen too as Prince Vikram opposite Sonam Kapoor in ‘Khoobsurat'. If Fawad will be part of this legendary movie, it will add glory to his career.
