New Delhi: Hair stylist Adhuna Akhtar, who has a long list of Bollywood clientele, says her husband Farhan Akhtar is the most stylish celebrity in tinsel town.
Adhuna, who has given many actors an image makeover onscreen be it the urban youth look of Aamir Khan in “Dil Chahta Hai” or the spunky Preity Zinta in “Lakshya”, said Farhan is always experimental.
“My husband is the most stylish celebrity in Bollywood. He is always ready to experiment with his looks. He sits and listens to all the styling advices I give him. He is a stylish person in real life too. He looked brilliant in ‘Rock On',” Adhuna, who is styling Farhan for “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” too, told PTI.
She is set to make her debut on television with TLC's styling and make-over series ‘Be Blunt'. The six-part series will showcase the striking transformation of the women across the country.
At the end of each episode, participants will also get to meet Bollywood actors including Farhan, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhay Deol, Arjun Rampal and others.
“Getting those celebrities on-board was a huge challenge for me as they are all busy with their film projects. But as I have developed a personal rapport with them, they were more than excited to be a part of the show,” said Adhuna.
The series will go on air from July 16. Adhuna started styling for Bollywood films in 2001 with “Dil Chahta Hai” and now she has many new projects in the pipeline, most important being Yash Raj's “Dhoom 3”.
Asked about her most toughest Bollywood assignment, she said, “'Lakshya' was my toughest task. In the film, I had to give Preity two looks - both short and long haired. Shooting was taking place in extreme conditions in Ladakh and the wig which she had to put on was getting expanded the moment she was stepped out of the vanity van.”
Adhuna, who shifted her base from London to India 15 years ago, said people in India have now become more experimental with their looks, thanks to the Bollywood celebrities.
“For the past few years, people have been experimenting with their looks and the credit goes to Bollywood stars,” she said.
