Delhi girl Esha Gupta has replaced Prachi Desai in Mahesh Bhatt's forthcoming film Informer, reports Delhi Times.
The report said, Prachi Desai backed out, after which the director Kumal Deshmukh began his search for a new girl to replace her.
After an extensive search, says the report, Mahesh Bhatt and Deshmukh have finalized former Miss India finalist Esha Gupta to play the lead role.
Says Deshmukh: "Emraaan Hashmi's dates are precious and once we realized that Prachi wasn't in the project. We had to finalise the actress soon.
"In a very eerie way, this was like Jannat, where Esha Deol had backed out a week before shooting and then Sonal was roped in.
"In this case, even though Prachi didn't back out, she had to be replaced.
"We met Esha a couple of times and tested her out. I wanted her but Bhattsaab wanted someone else, who was more in the Jacqueline league and very sexy.
"However, Jannat for me is more romance and less sex; it doesn't go all out on sex like Murder 2. So,we finally selected Esha. She is sensuous, sexy and has the makings of a star.
Kunal says the character is that of a typical Delhi girl and he wanted someone who would be a natural fit. "Esha has the attitude of a Delhi girl, the way I want it.
"The character is slightly teekhi, muhphat, (brash) she isn't the type to sit back and is used to being heckled by men. That's our character, and Esha fits in well."
