It was the first occasion for director Mohit Suri and producer Ekta Kapoor to conjoin for a project which has proved to be quite profitable. The flick is the highest grosser for both of them as Suri's ‘Aashqui 2' and Ekta's ‘Dirty Picture' were the most profitable flicks for them.
Ek Villain has already surpassed ‘Main Tera Hero', ‘Heropanti' and ‘Queen' whose lifetime collection stands at Rs 55 cr, Rs 53.40 cr and Rs 61 cr respectively.
After entering the elite club, the flick will not only join but also be eyeing 2 States, Holiday and Jai Ho which are the top three grosser of the year so far.
Since, Vidya Balan's ‘Bobby Jasoos' and debutant Armaan Jain's ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil' are given cold shoulder by the audience, Ek Villain is sailing smoothly and could top the charts of box office.
But next week release ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' starring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, is surely going to fade at box office. But nevertheless, Ek Villain has already proved to be a superhit at box office and anything additional will be fantastic.
