Evergreen veteran hero Dev Anand, says a report, is a distressed man. Ever since, he heard Rohan Sippy naming his action thriller Dum Maro Dum, Dev Anand has lost his sleep.
Says Dev Anand: “I want to appeal to the artistic and creative conscience of the makers of Dum Maro Dum not to name their film this. By resorting to such easily saleable gimmicks they will hurt the sentiments of all those who see and love cinema; and who have liked, admired, and even swooned over the eternally popular song of the same name, in my cult classic of the Seventies, Hare Rama Hare Krishna.
"Besides insulting the spirit of the late R D Burman who composed the song, the late Anand Bakshi who wrote it, Asha Bhonsle who sang it, Zeenat Aman who performed in it, and above all me, who is still making films and enjoying the adulation of my admirers the world over, and whose two films, the newly colourised version of Hum Dono and my latest Chargesheet are going to hit the screens very soon.”
