New Delhi: This Friday will see an epic battle on silver screens; the clash between Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Bajirao Mastani and Rohit Shetty's rom-com Dilwale. Both the movies have had cine buffs excited ever since they were announced.
Both the films have an edge over the other on some front or the other. While Rohit has the chemistry of superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol to his advantage, Sanjay brings back the historic love of Peshwa ruler Bajirao and Mastani.
With all eyes set on this clash, there is some bad news for Bajirao Mastani just a day before the release.
Eros, the production house of Bajirao Mastani is believed to have signed a deal with single screen theatres to show only the Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone-starrer. The deal prohibited them from showing Dilwale at all.
The exhibitors felt that such a monopoly could affect their business badly and hence moved court. The case was heard at a Bombay sessions court and the court has ruled in the favour of the exhibitors.
This means that the single screens are now free to allocate any number of screens they want to Dilwale.
Trade analyst Komal Nahata tweeted this to confirm the news: "
Now, that Bajirao Mastani has lost the first battle, will this be a huge setback for the movie? Only the coming days will decide which movie will be the victorious one.
