New Delhi: Dhanush-starrer ‘Vella Illa Pattatharia' (VIP) has turned out to be the biggest grosser for him till date and the actor couldn't stop thanking his fans for the accomplishment. The action-comedy flick on Day 1 earned Rs 5.18 cr alone in Tamil Nadu while it also opened big at overseas market.
In USA it made impressive Rs 43.46 lacs including Thursday pre release and Friday collection.

On the other hand in Australia and UK the flick did a decent business. “Tamil film #VellaiIllaPattathari - Australia: Fri A$ 13,288, Sat A$ 19,962. Total: A$ 33,250 [Rs 18.87 lacs]”, wrote Adarsh.
“Tamil film #VellaiIllaPattathari - UK: Fri £ 9,707, Sat £ 13,612. Total: £ 23,319 [Rs 24.08 lacs]”, he tweeted further.
Dhanush whose last two flicks failed badly at the box office took on the twitter and thanked his fans saying, "I don't know how 2 thank my fans 4 giving VIP d biggest opening of my career n making it a huge blockbuster. I dedicate my tears of joy 2 u all.”
Produced by Dhanush's home banner Wunderbar Films, VIP is directed by R. Velraj and also stars Amala Paul, Saranya Ponvannan, Amitesh Pradhan and Samuthirakani Surabhi in pivotal roles.
