Mumbai: While famous comedian Kapil Sharma is all geared up for the release of his debut film ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon', it looks like the channel is planning to clip his wings.
Colors is promoting yet another comedy programme these days – Comedy Nights Bachao – which is expected to give tough competition to Kapil's ongoing show ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil'.
Though the channel has launched it as an alternate show to the already existing one, putting it on a slot which earlier belonged to Kapil doesn't seem to be a mere coincidence.
Earlier when Kapil's show used to appear two times in a week, this was one of the slots it used.
It seems to be an alternative comedy hour which will prepare the channel for life after Kapil. In case, Kapil's interests drift towards films after the release of his debut movie, the channel would be adequately equipped to deal with the situation. And in case he stays, then the new program will work as an alternative to the existing show.
Another reason confirming that the channel is prepping itself to face the challenge is superstar Salman Khan.
As is known, since the beginning of Comedy Nights With Kapil, the ‘Dabangg' actor has always come to the show for the promotion of his films. However, this time, to promote Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty's ‘Hero', he has chosen ‘Comedy Nights Bachao' instead of Kapil's show.
This sure is a jolt to Kapil, who will have to decide his future steps carefully now onwards.
