But many singers had a short span of career is the musical world and it's been rare for them to make a come back. Singers like Sonu Nigam, Shaan among many others have never witnessed a dry period ever since they made it in the singing world and time and again they continue to surprise us with variety of songs. But few who were absent for quite some time have made a great comeback in the recent years and have ruled the charts with their melodies. Take a look at those singers-

Kumar Sanu- Winning Filmfare Best singer award for five consecutive years in 90's, Kumar Sanu however, made a comeback with ‘Rowdy Rathode' in 2012 but he claimed back the recognition only when the recent ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha' got released. Movie, which is also an ode to the evergreen singer had his two songs ‘Dard Karara' and ‘Tu' both sung and picturised in the 90's style. According to a leading daily, the singer has numerous offers lined up after this.

Altaf Raja- The qawwali singer Altaf Raja who's 'Tum Toh Thehre Pardesi' was a runaway hit in the 90's is up with his next album 'Tum Toh Thehre Pardesi Part 2'. However, last year in ‘Ghanchakkar' he hummed a track ‘Jholu Ram' but that was let down by movie's failure. He has planned to release his next album before Diwali this year.

Bappi Lahiri- The disco king Bappi Lahiri serenaded in 70's and 80's but remained absent in the 90's. It was in 2006 that he sung ‘Bumbai Nagariya' for ‘Taxi Number 9211' but certainly was back in his disco form with ‘Oo La La' song in ‘Dirty Picture'.
