Bollywood heroes who turned villains in real life

New Delhi: In front of arclights, our Bollywood stars appear larger than life, they inspire billions of fans with their looks, their on-screen persona, but in real lives, they have been involved in incidents which portray them as villains. They have occasionally admitted their mistakes, and have been facing the full brunt of law through court trials and were sent to jails.Is it because the stars consider themselves as above ordinary mortals, or do you think it's a quirk of fate or destiny? Let's have a look at Bollywood stars who faced imprisonment and court cases: 1. Sanjay Dutt----: The Munnabhai of Bollywood Sanjay Dutt was sentenced to five years imprisonment by the Supreme Court for illegally possessing an AK-56 assault rifle and a pistol, and then destroying them. These weapons were given to him by associates of gangster Dawood Ibrahim a few days before the 1993 serial blasts. In his confession, Sanjay Dutt said he wanted to become a Rambo-type figure in order to protect himself from perceived threats to him and his family members. He was acquittedof more serious terrorism charges under the TADA Act, but was convicted under Arms Act. Munnabhai wept in front of a battery of mediapersons when he said that he would finish his shooting and prefer to go to jail when his time was up. 2. Salman Khan ----: The Dabbang Khan of Bollywood faced two cases against him - Black Buck poaching case (1998) and Hit and Run Case (2002). He has been charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act while others were charged under Section 52 of the Act and Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the IPC.He was exempted from the hearing on medical grounds in Jodhpur court on March 23. He was charged in the Bandra hit and run case on September 28, 2002 - when his SUV ran over people speaking over pavement outside a bakery in Bandra - killing one and injuring four persons. Salman told Rajat Sharma's Aap Ki Adalat: "Whenever I pass through that area, I feel a sort of shivering, thinking about those poor people. It was my driver who was at the wheels." Other say, it was Salman who was at the wheels that night and was driving at breakneck speed. 3. John Abraham---- On April 8, 2006, Abraham allegedly rammed his Yamaha Hayabusa bike into a bicycle, injuring two youngsters on Carter Road in suburban Bandra. The actor's head hit the edge of the pavement and he also suffered bruises on his right leg. Do Bollywood star find it difficult to control their craze for overspeeding? 4.Saif Ali Khan---- Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre were charged for hunting and inciting Salman Khan to hunt, as well as unlawful assembly in Jodhpur. In another incident at a Mumbai restaurant inside a five star hotel, a South Africa-based businessman Iqbal Sharma filed complaint against Saif for physically assaulting him, punching his face and breaking his nose. Saif was having his dinner with Kareena Kapoor and some other friends, and there was bad blood between the two groups over the shouting and guffawing that was taking place at Saif's table, to which this man objected.5. Shiney Ahuja----- Shiney Ahuja was arrested in 2009 for allegedly raping his domestic help in his own home.In March 2011,he was convicted and sentenced to seven years imprisonment,but in April that year Shiney was released on bail until his appeal is heard. There were reports of the maid being forced to change her testimony, whreas Shiney and his wife says the actor is innocent, and has been framed. 6. Fardeen Khan---- Firoz Khan's son Fardeen was arrested in 2001 for buying 2 grams of cocaine from a drug dealer in Mumbai, although the Bollywood actor claimed that he had consumed less than a gram of cocaine.
