New Delhi: Bollywood this year gave us many beautiful memories but the demise of some of the brilliant actors, singers and filmmakers deeply saddened us whose space would be not be viable for anyone to fill in the coming ages.Today we take a look at all of them who bid adieu to the world, this year.Shamshad Begum- The mesmerising voice of Shamshed Begun fell silent on April 23rd after a prolonged illness. Before Lata Mangeshkar became the queen of melody, it was Begum who crooned in flicks with her throaty voice. Her hits like “Mere piya gaye Rangoon” from “Patanga” and “Leke pehla pehla pyar” from “C.I.D.” are even recalled today.Rituparno Ghosh- Indian filmmaker and gay icon Rituparno Ghosh died in his sleep on May 30th due to a massive cardiac arrest. The National Award winning director was known for his mastery in portraying human relationship with sensitivity. Abir Goswami- The 38 year old telly actor who featured in ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai' had a heart attack on May 31st while he was running on his treadmill at a gym. The actor was also to be seen in the forthcoming film ‘Ugly' directed by Anurag Kashyap. He is survived by his wife whom he married just a year ago.Jiah Khan- Actress Jiah Khan's death on June 3rd was shocking not just for she committed suicide at the age of 25 but for the rumours surrounding her death. The ‘Nishabd' actress' love affair with the young son of actor Aditya Pancholi turned her suicide news into a murder mystery. Pran- The ‘God father of Indian villains' Pran left the entire nation in a state of shock when he bid adieu to the world at the Lilavati Hospital on July 12th. The actor lived 93 years and gave some of the remarkable performances which no one could forget.Jagdish Raj- Renowned as the ‘quintessential cop of Bollywood', actor Jagdish Raj left the world on July 28 due to respiratory problems. The late actor holds the Guinness World record for playing a cop in 144 flicks which includes Deewar, Silsila, Don and Shakti among other Bollywood biggies. Manna Dey- There may not be another voice similar to the legendary singer Manna Dey. Sung over more than 4000 songs in a career spanning over 70 years, Manna took his last breath in Bangalore hospital on Oct 24th. He died in the city he loved, because this was the place where he spent some memorable moments with his wife Sulochana. Sandeep Acharya- One of the shocking demises in Bollywood. Sandeep, the winner of Indian Idol season 2, was just 29 and was jumping over the ladder of success but lost his battle to death on December 15th in Gurgoan.Farooq Sheikh- While the year was just inching closer to an end, the sudden death of Farooq Sheikh, Bollywood's one of the finest actors, played spoilsport in celebration and distraught the nation deeply. The actor was on a family vacation in Dubai, where he died of a heart-attack on December 27th
