Shabana Azmi turned 60 on Saturday, with a bash in a Juhu lounge. She raucously danced to the thrum of the new item number ‘Munni Badnaam Hui' and Jaya Bachchan too joined in, with Ash clapping and cheering the loudest.
Other guests included the entire Bachchan parivar with family-friend Tina Ambani in tow. Tina's sister-in-law, Nita Ambani, who generally avoids attending the same parties as Tina, also attended. So did Naseeruddin Shah, Rekha, Parmeshwar Godrej, Anil Kapoor, Ashutosh Gowariker, Sudhir Mishra, Zeenat Aman and Urmila Matondkar.
However, what was the talking point of the evening was the long and earnest discussion between Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha, reports Mumbai Mirror. The two of them have never been seen to fraternize so feelingly before. The Big B and Shotgun spent almost the entire evening together.
In 2008, Bachchan and Sinha came to a head when Sinha had allegedly insinuated that certain film awards had become partial to the Big B and his family. The Big B had lashed out at Sinha in his blog.
Says one of the invitees. “Normally when Mr Bachchan and Sinha saab meet they barely say a hello before quickly moving away. But at Shabana's party on Saturday night they were together throughout, in a deep discussion.”
When asked what the deep discussion was all about Shatrughan Sinha said, “We were catching up on old times. We've never had any kind of personal problems between us. Whatever I've said about him in the past is strictly on a professional level. At Shabana's party everyone was relaxed. I was feeling very happy that Amitabh had won the National Award for Paa. I went up to him and said he had honoured the award by receiving it. Every year the National Awards are controversial. Not this time. We spoke about a lot of things.”
