New Delhi: Big B, who is set to hold the commentary mike during the Feb 15, cricket clash between India and Pakistan, is all excited for his debut as a commentator, which is also the part of the promotional campaign for his upcoming release ‘Shamitabh'.
The makers of Shamitabh, which will have the legendary actor's voice being stolen by a mute actor played by Dhanush, are capitalizing over the voice around, which the story revolves. “Balki Sahab felt that since Shamitabh is about the voice, why not lend my voice to commentary. So I will be doing the commentary during Indo-Pak match.” said Big B on being quizzed by a leading daily over why opting commentary.
Lending voice in the commentary box by any Bollywood actor is absolutely a fresh approach for promoting a movie and Big B is trying his level best to get the cricket technicalities right before he could hold the mike alongside seasoned commentators Harsha Bhogle and Kapil Dev. “I will be ‘making an attempt' at the commentary alongside professionals,” added Big B in an interview to a leading daily.
However, the strategy to promote the movie goes well with its concept but movie's release date is a bit problem since it will hit the theatres a week before the World Cup commences while prior India-Pakistan match two other fresh movies namely Roy and Dirty Politics will take over theatres.
Yet we are confident of R.Balki-Big B's stupendous combination that has given hits like Paa and Cheeni Kum in the past.
Amitabh Bachchan has had a tough time shooting for the flick, which required him to spend more time recording his voice. “I had to record the entire script in my voice before going to the sets. Balki and I used to sit in the studio and do the recording. Then Dhanush and I used to match the facial expressions listening to that recording. The whole process was very tedious," Bachchan said.
Well, we wish all the hard-work gets paid. But what we more anticipate is the ‘baap' of all the matches India vs Pakistan on Feb 15, which is going to be even more fascinating with Big B's eternal voice.
