Mumbai, Sep 13: What would you expect from a film where the main characters speak through sign language? Surely it would evoke an awkward reaction, but with rockstar Ranbir Kapoor on your side, you must do a rethink.

On 14th September, the “Barfi!” boy Ranbir Kapoor will tickle your bone with his non-verbal communication.

One thing which every spectator is aware about is that Ranbir's character is inspired by the legendary Charlie Chaplin and the unforgettable Mr. Bean portrayed by the British actor Rowan Atkinson.

But does Barfi! have a hilarious mask comedy with flexible faces, and no use of words. It's a big no. Barfee has a lot of emotions besides making you laugh.

Taking you back to the Seventies, the film is about Murfi, called by the townsmen as ‘Barfi'.

Barfi - a carefree guy, often running into trouble with the police and bringing a smile to everyone's face. Set in beautiful Darjeeling in the 70's, the film is essentially about Barfi's relationship with the two women in his life – Shruti  played by Ileana D'Cruz and Jhilmil, played by Priyanka Chopra.

Shruti falls to parental and community pressures to marry a ‘normal' man, but cannot come to terms with the fact that she is still in love with Barfi.

Jhilmil, on the other hand, trusts Barfi blindly.

One dramatic event puts Barfi in a tough situation, and dynamics change.

Through a series of events all three characters discover what love really is.

The movie unfolds through the eyes of the various characters whose life has been touched by Barfi, and there is enough mystery in the story to keep you hooked.

Anurag Basu looks to make a big comeback after being criticised for his last disaster ‘Kites'.

Pritam, as ever, has been magical with his soundtracks but will have to wait to witness how he gels the music with the background as the score will play an important role in the movie with limited dialogues.

The love story between Priyanka-Ranbir is supposed to be the highlight of the story, while innocent-looking Ileana D'Cruz from the Telugu hinterland will look to gain attention with her freshness.
