Ayushmann Khurrana, Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar’s film Bala, which deals with premature balding, brought in huge numbers at the Box Office on its opening day. The film earned Rs 10.15 crore on Day 1 becoming Ayushmann's highest grossing movie -- on its opening day.
Khurrana's last film Dreamgirl had opened with Rs 10.05 crore.
According to IndiaTVNews.com review of the movie, 'Bala' is just like its characters -- flawed but awesome. And it just might become Ayushmann's seventh consecutive hit.
"'Bala' exudes a familiarity, a warmth, a knowingness -- and channels it to bring forth the country's obsession with perfection. It's not flawless, but it's beautiful. Painfully awesome in parts," the review says.

Bala clashed with Sooraj Pancholi’s Satellite Shankar and Neil Nitin Mukesh’s Bypass Road at the ticket windows.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said the movie was Ayushmann's biggest release to date. He revealed that the screen count of the film is 3,000 in India and above 550 in the other countries.
Ayushmann had earlier said: "It was a different person altogether, and I did not recognise myself. I thought I looked like my grandfather because he had scanty hair. But I could relate with the reason why there is the complex (among people who are suffering premature balding). My father is quite gifted that way. He will turn 70 next year and he still has full hair. But my grandfather had the issue, I remember. So I empathise with them. Having said that, during the shoot, the toughest part was the prosthetic."
