London, Jan 6: Bollywood superstar Abhishek Bachchan says he's had a permanent grin on his face since becoming a father last November.
But the actor, who is married to former Miss World-turned-actor Aishwarya Rai, admits that while he's more jolly, fatherhood hasn't changed him too much: “I haven't changed. I don't get angry as much.... so maybe that's a good thing.”
Bachchan and Rai became parents to a baby girl - who has yet to be officially named - on November 16th.
Due to his busy acting and film promotion schedule Abhishek hasn't been able to spend much time with his daughter, which has been very difficult for him.
“I haven't had any time with her, because the day I brought her back from the hospital I went straight back to work because I had the film to release,” he explains.
“It's very difficult to peel yourself away from the baby and go ahead and work, but you know, we are professionals, we have to do that, that's our job, but it is difficult.”
While Bachchan has been busy working, his wife has taken a break from acting to care for the baby.
However Abhishek is sure she'll make an acting comeback: “Currently she is very busy with the baby, she just has a newborn, so. But I haven't really sat down and discussed with her whether she wants to...as and when she wants to work, but I think being an actor I don't think you ever fall out of love with cinema and I'll be more than happy to see her work as soon as possible. Apart from being her husband, I'm a huge admirer of her work and I would like to see her in front of the camera soon, but that is entirely her decision when she wants to do it.”
Bachchan is currently in the U.K. promoting his new movie “Players: Go For Gold” - a Bollywood remake of “The Italian Job.”
