Mumbai, July 7 : Laila Khan, the B grade starlet in Bollywood, had not only purchased the flat in Oshiwara and a farmhouse near Nashik, but had also bought three cars, says her neighbour.

Mumbai police is trying to find out whether her family had links with hawala traders or not.

Two days ago, Laila Khan's stepfather Parvez Ali Tak told Jammu Police that he got Laila Khan and five of her family members killed with the help of two sharpshooters and escaped to J&K.

Laila Khan's family owned Flat no. 4 in Sunshine society building in Oshiwara, Mumbai and had three cars. They generally stayed indoors during the daytime, and came out wearing flashy clothes at night, says a neighbour Prakash Dubey.

Laila's family has been staying in the Oshiwara flat for the last 13 years. All the three cars that were registered had false addresses.

Neighbours in the society building said, Laila's mother Salina Patel was divorced by her first husband Nadir Patel, after which she stayed with Asif.  The family's riches came to the notice of neighbours, when Parvez Ali Tak came in as Salina's third husband.

Both Asif and Parvez are presently in the custody of Mumbai and Jammu police respectively.

The neighbours disclosed how on January 26, 2010, the Sunshine society secretary Mr Noorani had a quarrel with Laila and her mother, after which Parvez threatened Noorani with dire consequences saying that he had links with Kashmiri militants.
