Mumbai, Sept 8: Director Anees Bazmee has received a legal notice from the Percept Picture Company (PPC), which has threatened to file a lawsuit against him for not refunding Rs 51 lakh, which he got as signing amount for directing Jeb Hamari Maal Tumhara.
The film got stalled and PPC has been following up with Anees regarding the return of the signing amount for the last four years.
Anees admits he had received the money, but claimed he had fulfilled the conditions mentioned in his contract. Anees says he had written the script and worked hard on the film, but getting the actors was not his responsibility. Anees also says, the production company couldn't get the actors and that's why the film got stalled.
Percept Pictures has now appointed an arbitrator and served a legal notice to Aneez Bazmee. A court case is likely to be filed next week.
