New Delhi: Alia Bhatt impressed all with her charming avatar in the movie '2 States' and rumours suggest that Alia might next be seen in another adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's book.
Chetan Bhagat is all set to launch his upcoming book Half Girlfriend soon but even before that, Ekta Kapoor and Mohit Suri have already decided to make an adaptation of the novel.
The book is being launched on October 1 in Mumbai and Delhi. And speculation is rife about who will play Riya, a posh girl from Delhi, the book's protagonist. Kriti Sanon and Huma Qureshi are among the contenders for the role but it seems that it is Alia is the one who will win the race.
Though the book is yet to be released, a source told a leading daily, "Riya is a student at St. Stephen's and has an air of self-importance around her. But that is just her exterior."
The report also stated that Mohit Suri believes Alia would be apt for the role, and she is also very keen on working with her cousin.
The leading daily quoted a source saying, "It's a role tailor-made for Alia and both Mohit and Chetan believe that Alia who had earlier played Ananya Swaminathan in 2 States based on another Chetan bestseller, will do complete justice to Riya. Alia herself is keen to work with Mohit who is her cousin."
However, the report also quoted the director Mohit Suri saying, "Alia is an amazing actress. I am currently developing the script and have not reached the casting stage. All I can say at the moment is that she would be great for the part."
We wonder if Alia is playing posh girl Riya, then who will play a Bihari boy Madhav. To know the answer you have to wait for official announcement.
