Mumbai, Feb 14: After neglecting his back injury for over a decade now, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is again suffering from excruciating pain, for which he has had to postpone the shooting of Joker, says a media report.

Akshay Kumar's back problem has resurfaced and it seems this time, it's quite serious, says the report.

The action hero who made his mark in the industry with his daredevil stunts, most of which he insisted on performing without using body doubles, has reason to worry now.

Khiladi Kumar injured his back while shooting for Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi in 1996. But despite treatment, the problem has been recurring every now and then.

And this time, so agonising was the pain that Akshay had to cancel a public appearance on Sunday.

Added to this, the actor has now postponed the shooting of his film Joker in Chandigarh to at least a couple of days later.

The report quotes a source close to Akshay: “He has this recurring problem and he has to rest it out. The back problem happened again at an award ceremony on Saturday, when he launched the Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai sequel. As a result, a special appearance that he was to make for a TV channel had to be cancelled at the last moment. Akshay has also put on hold his Chandigarh trip, where he was to join the unit of Joker to start shooting.

"Akshay apparently wants to rest it out this time, until he is fit enough to start shooting. He is disappointed also because he wanted to do post-promotion of Patiala House during this time.”

Shrish Kunder, the director of Joker said, “Yes, Akshay was to come on Monday but as of now he has postponed it by a day. I am not aware of the intensity of his injury, as he is taking rest right now.”
