New Delhi: 2016 is going to be a promising year for Bollywood. Filmmakers have tried their best to treat cine buffs with a plethora of genres. Production giants have collaborated with huge stars in a hope to create new records at the box office.

With the first biggest release Wazir, hitting theatres, we bring you a list of stars on whom a huge money is at stake this year.

1. Akshay Kumar:

With Airlift releasing this January and Housefull 3, Rustom and Robot 2 releasing in the following months, Akshay Kumar is on whom rides the maximum amount of money in 2016. The bet on him comes close to Rs 230 crores.

2. Shah Rukh Khan:

The King Khan has two releases this year, Raees and Fan. This year around Rs 140-150 crores is being betted on this star whose solo release ‘Dilwale' last year, broke many records overseas.

3. Aamir Khan:

Mr. Perfectionist, who seldom does more than one movie per year, will be giving a Christmas treat to his fans this year with ‘Dangal'. Around Rs 130 crores, is what rides on Aamir Khan in 2016.

4. Salman Khan:

This superstar comes with a guarantee that his movies will rake crores at the box office. He had a promising 2015 with two super hits Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and this year around Rs 90-100 crores is at stake on him. His movie ‘Sultan' will clash with SRK's ‘Raees' on Eid.

5. Hrithik Roshan:

The Greek God is the lead actor of Ashutosh Gowariker's ambitious project Mohenjo Daro. The movie is high on budget due to the high technology it is said to be using, which brings the spotlight on Hrithik, making the bet on him around Rs 110 crores.

6. Ranbir Kapoor:

While Ranbir's biggest release last year, Bombay Velvet turned out to be a dud at the box office; he is hoping to change his stars in year 2016. ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' and ‘Jagga Jasoos', the two movies of him which will release this year, point out that around Rs 150-200 crores is riding on him.

7. Shahid Kapoor:

Shahid's 2015 release ‘Shaandaar' proved to be a box office failure but Vishal Bhardwaj's ‘Rangoon' is expected to be another biggie of his career. Shahid better stand true to the expectations as close to Rs 120 crores is riding on him.
