New Delhi: Two big names of Bollywood, gorgeous diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, were about to share screen space, but the former refused.

Aishwarya has recently accepted that she denied working with Aamir Khan once.

This might surprise and shock you in equal amounts, but it actually happened.

Though, not recently. This occurred years ago; 1996 precisely.

Aishwarya who will be promoting her upcoming movie ‘'Jazbaa' on the hit TV show Comedy Nights with Kapil, said that she was offered Raja Hindustani opposite Aamir Khan.

“At that time, I wanted to concentrate and complete my education. So, I turned it down. Later, I became Miss World and then entered films,” revealed Aishwarya.

It was after Aishwarya rejected the offer that Karisma Kapoor got the role. The movie was a super hit and the Aamir and Karisma immediately became stars after its release.

Aamir and Aishwarya, have not worked together ever. The only Aamir movie, Ash was a part of was ‘Mela', in which she did a cameo at the end. That too, opposite his brother Faizal Khan, who was the second lead in it.

There were rumours that the two superstars of Bollywood - Khan and Rai, would come together for ‘Shuddhi'. This however did not work out since Varun Dhawan has bagged the role of this ambitious project of Karan Johar.

On the professional front, Ash is awaiting the release of Jazbaa on October 9th while Aamir, on the other hand, has started shooting for ‘Dangal', in which he is playing the role of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat.
