New Delhi: They were called the shame of the nation, FIR was filed against them and they were heavily criticised, but this comedy group just didn't give up. We are talking about the famous and infamous group All India Bakchod.
AIB as it is popularly called did a comedy show ‘roast' somewhere around December last year which involved Bollywood names like Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Their gig was offensive and did not go well with the audiences which landed them in huge trouble.
The AIB boys, Gursimran Khamba, Tanmay Bhat, Rohan Joshi and Ashish Shakya apologised unconditionally.
Now, for all the fans of this comedy group we have some good news. AIB, for the first time, is coming up with a Television show, whose trailer was released recently. The team has been roped in by Star India for a new news comedy series called ‘On Air with AIB'.
All India Bakchod, who's every YouTube videos go viral almost instantly, will finally leave the confinement of their channel to reach a wider audience.
Speaking on this new project the CEO of Star India Uday Shankar said, “I am told that based on extensive, exhaustive research, AIB are considered mildly entertaining and we should give them a show on our network. I have complete faith that we will regret this in the months to come.”
“We have no idea why anyone in their right minds would ask us to inflict our views on unsuspecting audiences. Also, we live in such a perfect country where everything is amazing and where the maddening, infuriating and often silly state of affairs is not a comedic goldmine, so why would you have us do news comedy? But we're doing this because we want to see what it's like to be on a show that requires us to put on pants,” is what the comedians said.
The trailer is pretty interesting given the fact that they keep insisting that the ‘new show' is not a roast. The video shows them convincing two people about the same but since AIB has become so synonymous with roast; they couldn't accept it. Watch the hilarious video here:
