Mumbai, Dec 22 : 'C' grade actress Huma Khan has been sentenced to three years' rigorous imprisonmet by Additional Sessions Judge A R Waghwate on charge of torturing her maid's minor daughter with buring cigarette butts.
The court however acquitted her brother Shammiuddin Shaikh after he made the court believe that he was impotent. The minor girl had levelled charge of rape against Huma Khan's brother.
Huma Khan, who lives in Dahisar, has worked in several C grade film during the eighties and Nineties.
The sixteen-year-old girl Shanti Vishwakarma was forcibly taken by the actress from Pune in 2007. She had alleged that the actress' brother raped her thrice and she was subjected to torture with burning cigarette butts.
Sixty six injury marks were found on different parts of the girl's body, the medical report revealed.
Huma Khan and her brother were arrested on charges of rape, attempt to murder, abduction and criminal intimidation. She was sent to Kalya jail, but came out later after securing bail.
The actress stays in Rashmi Tanna building on Mira Road and Shanti used to go there with her mother.
After she faced a string of flops, Huma Khan shifted to Pune to stay near her brother.Hemlata Deshmukh, Additional Public Prosecutor said, she would appeal to the higher court against the acquittal given to Huma's brother.
