New Delhi: No matter what the critics have to say about Action Jackson but it isn't that bad at box office, which is witnessing an end of its dry spell. The movie starring Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Manasvi Mamgai among others has released today and as per media reports, the movie is performing well both at single screen and multiplexes.
However, this Prabhu Deva directorial isn't claiming a start, which most of Ajay Devgn's flicks have received in recent years. Still after the dull performance by big flicks like Kill Dil, Happy Ending, The Shaukeens among others, Action Jackson's release delivers a sigh of relief to the box office.
Released in around 3600 screens all over and looking at the footfall, the movie is expected to fetch around Rs 12 cr today, which will be good considering it has released on a usual day and not on a festive occasion.
With its presence, the last week's releases are expected to be given a back seat. Ungli starring Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda and Kangana Ranaut ended its weekend at the total collection of Rs 12.65 cr while its week's collection is Rs 19 cr nett according to a leading daily Koimoi.
On the other hand, Mannara, Karanvir Sharma and Shraddha Das starrer Zid whose opening weekend recorded a collection of Rs 8.60 cr nett has earned around Rs 15 cr in its first week.
Both these flicks will find it hard to sail at box office from today onwards and this week will be their last opportunity to fetch as much as possible.
Meanwhile, today there are three other flicks, which have released alongside Action Jackson. Among them Bhopal- A Prayer for Rain can fetch good number of audience since the movie is based on the real life tragedy which took place in MP's capital 30 years back killing thousands of natives.
The third release Mumbai Delhi Mumbai is a romantic comedy starring Shiv Pandit and Piaa Bajpai in the lead roles. The movie failed to create any buzz prior its release and thereby it will be finding hard to fetch any decent number of viewers at the ticket counters.
