New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is having a tough time these days ever since he gave a controversial statement over the ongoing ‘intolerance' debate.
In a recent media event, Mr. Perfectionist made a shocking statement that his wife Kiran Rao had suggested leaving the country as she is scared for the kids.
Aamir's intolerance remark has created a furore across the country as the actor is being badly criticised by the common man as well as the B-town celebs and not to forget the sharp statements from several politicians.
Earlier, superstar Shah Rukh Khan too had made a statement on a public platform saying that India is an intolerant country. SRK's statement too had received rave views.
But it seems that now this ‘intolerance' mess is going to cost both the stars a little more than mere criticism and remarks.
With Aamir Khan sparking up turmoil across the country, he has been lashed over his advertisement of Incredible India. Infact veteran actor Anupam Kher too had question the ‘PK' star asking since when the ‘Incredible India' became ‘Intolerant India' for him.
Aamir's statement created troubles for Snapdeal too, an online shopping portal he endorses. Enraged internet users' down rated Snapdeal's app on Google play store while many uninstalled the app. Following such a loss, this morning Snapdeal distanced itself from the actor's opinions in a bid to win back customers.
Snapdeal issued a media statement clarifying, “Snapdeal is neither connected nor plays a role in comments made by Aamir Khan in his personal capacity”.
Both SRK and Aamir are being hit out at the micro-blogging site Twitter for their controversial remarks.
Although Shah Rukh Khan has finally withdrawn his statement as straight away denied saying India is intolerant, Aamir Khan still stands with what he has said.
Well, the backlash the actors are facing from the fans over their controversial remarks might affect their upcoming films has well.
Reportedly, the fans of both Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan might boycott their films.
According to the media reports, fans have started a chain message on the messaging app Whatsapp, marking it as a protest against the superstars, urging the audience not to watch Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan's upcoming films ‘Dilwale' and ‘Dangal' respectively.
Although, only time will reveal if this so called boycott actually happens or not, but Aamir and SRK's intolerance remarks have indeed sparked a rage amongst the audience.
