New Delhi: Aamir Khan, the Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood has joined the conversation on the impending issue of intolerance in India. At the 2015 edition of the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards held in Delhi on Monday, the superstar said that he is alarmed with the recent happenings in the country.

Speaking at event Aamir said, “When you see a person committing violence, the first mistake we make is labelling them Islamic terrorist/Hindu terrorist.”

He also added that in the past six to eight months level of insecurity has risen across the nation. Aamir said that this disturbs his wife Kiran Rao as well.

This was not the only issue Aamir expressed his views on. The ‘PK' star thinks that the censor board needs to widen its approach on many matters. “The censor board has been a little too aggressive in its approach in the last 6 to 8 months and until we widen the understanding of self, it is going to be a long time before we change.”

Recently, the censor board invited a lot of wrath when they chopped kissing scenes in the latest James Bond flick, ‘Spectre'.

Last year, Aamir had condemned the show of the comedy group All India Bakchod; called AIB Roast. On the show, the stand up comedians made fun of many known personalities. Clarifying his stand on the AIB controversy he said, “My problem with the AIB roast was certain people who didn't sign up for the roast were also ridiculed & attacked.”

Before Aamir, superstar Shah Rukh Khan had joined the intolerance debate. Shah Rukh has said that “religious intolerance and not being secular…is the worst kind of crime that you can do as a patriot.”
