New Delhi: Alia Bhatt-Arjun Kapoor starrer ‘2 States' is turning into a money minting machine at box office with already over Rs 38.26 cr business in its account within three days.
After all the more similar two days collection on Friday and Saturday the flick witnessed a good growth on Sunday with Rs 13.51 cr in India.
“2States has a FANTABULOUS weekend. Fri Rs 12.42 cr, Sat 12.13 cr, Sun 13.51 cr. Total: Rs 38.06 cr nett. SUPER HIT”, tweets trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.
The flick, which is based on author Chetan Bhagat's semi-auto biography with the same title, has hit the right chord with the audience of every age but a big question is that will it make it to Rs 100 cr club is what is exciting the trade pundits.
It could be recalled that even after a promising start by Ranveer-Arjun starrer Gunday in the opening weekend (Rs 43.93 cr), the masala entertainer failed to hit the ton. Though, the flick was highly criticized by critics, which added to the reasons why it failed to hit the milestone.
But Abhishek Varman's first time directorial has this factor in its favour. The flick has mostly received positive response from all over. However, the flick is mostly working in metro circuits in comparison to single screen theaters where Gunday and Jai Ho capitalised immensely and became the top two grosses of the year until now.
With the names of Karan Johar and Chetan Bhagat's credibility, the flick should go on successfully in the coming weekend at box office. Rest the time will tell how close it could get to that elite club.
