Mumbai, Jan 20: Popular south actress Shriya Saran, who is looking forward to her forthcoming Bollywood release ‘Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai', which deals with the burning issue of corruption, says, it is the USP of the film and is thought provoking.
“The film talks about the current relevant topic, corruption. And while you come out laughing and smiling seeing the movie..it leaves you with a thought about corruption and that is the USP of the film. The serious topic of corruption is dealt in a humorous way. While having fun audience will get a thought provoking message,” Shriya told PTI in an interview.
“It is the story of a middle class family living in Bhopal and how a small incident changes their lives. How their lives get entangled in a series of incidents and without realising they become victims of corruption,” she said.
The film has Akshaye Khanna playing the role of a man who is a victim of graft; Shriya plays his wife, while Mugdha Godse plays the role of a call centre employee.
“I think it is something we all need to come together and change the system and ensure it is corrupt-free nation. Everyone has to come forward. It is not about one person changing it.. everyone has to come forward and change. It is not about blaming each other..but trying to change the system,” Shriya said.
On if she feels her character will get overshadowed with the heavy subject and Akshaye, she says, “I don't think my character would get overshadowed by any other. It is well written.”
Directed by Rumy Jaffrey, the film will hit cinema houses on February 3.
