Not many days before, Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar took to his social media to announce a new film - Sher Shah, a biopic on the life of the brave martyr Vikram Batra. The popular producer-director revealed that he has zeroed in on actor Sidharth Malhotra who will impersonate the brave martyr in the movie but the lead actress wasn’t finalized.
Looks like the project has got its female lead as well now. It was reported that Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif was in talks for the biopic and the rumor mill has it that the lady has given a nod to the film. Although the official announcement isn’t made yet, it is learned that Katrina was offered the movie and she is more than happy to do it. Katrina was supposed to give her dates for Salman Khan’s upcoming film ‘Bharat’but the plan couldn’t be executed so now Priyanka Chopra will be staring in the film opposite Salman Khan.
This leaves Katrina open for other projects and if everything is finalized this will be Katrina Kaif’s second film with Sidharth Malhotra. During the promotions of Aiyaary, Sidharth hinted on doing the Vikram Batra biopic and now that it is confirmed that he is the main lead, the man has started prepping for the film.
Helmed by Vishnu Varadhan and written by Sandeep Shrivastava, the movie is expected to go on floors this year. Dharma Productions and Shabbir Boxwala will collaborate for the ambitious project.
