Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Black’ is considered as one of the most wonderful movies of the industry. Actors Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukeji painted screens with their colourful expressions. But, Ayesha Kapur who played the role of young Rani came as a surprise package and impressed everyone with her acting. This is known to all that actress Sonam Kapoor worked as an assistant director in the film but very few know that she auditioned Alia Bhatt for Ayesha’s role.

The film has completed its 12 years in the industry and Big B also shared his happiness on micro blogging site Twitter. When Ayesha was asked about Alia’s audition she was surprised and stated that she was not aware about it. She further added that Alia is very talented actress.

This is indeed interesting that Sonam who is presently one of Alia’s contemporaries took her audition. And, it was Ayesha who grabbed the role. Who would have believed that the dimpled beauty who currently has some big projects in her kitty lost the role to Ayesha.

‘Black’ was released in 2005 and Amitabh received the National Film Award for Best Actor for his role. Both Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor worked as assistant director in the film.
