One of the most awaited film of the year Vivegam featuring actor Ajith released recently and the movie is doing wonders at the box office. Not only in India, the film is performing well at international box office as well. The two days collection of the movie has reached Rs 66 cr. Vivegam has scripted history in Chennai box office by becoming the fastest film to earn Rs 2.5 cr in just two days.
The figures were shared by trade analyst Ramesh Bala on social media. He tweeted, “#Vivegam becomes the fastest movie to reach 2.5 Crs in Chennai city Box office history.. 2 Days.. Total gross - 2.72 Crs.. #ChennaiBORecord.”
Despite mixed reviews, the movie opened to good response at the box office. Vivegam minted Rs 1.21cr at Chennai smashing the record of actor Rajinikanth starrer Kabali that earned Rs 1.12 crore in Chennai box office.
Ever since the trailer of the film was out, Thala’s fans were eagerly waiting for the movie to hit the screens. Thus, trade analysts already predicted that the movie will create a new record. Now, looking at the collections it goes without saying that movie will break many records.
Vivegam also marks the Tamil debut of actor Vivek Oberoi, who is seen playing antagonist. The movie also features actress Kajal Aggarwal in a pivotal role.
