Ever since, TV show Pehredaar Piya Ki hit the small screens, it received lot of criticism not only from viewers but also from celebrities, courtesy its regressive storyline. Now, viewers have finally taken a step in this direction. Many people have signed a petition on change.org urging Union Cabinet Minister of Textiles and Information and Broadcasting, Smriti Zubin Irani to ban the show as it can badly affect the thinking of kids.
Pehredaar Piya Ki came into limelight because of its creepy story where a 9-year old little boy gets married to a 19-year old girl. To make it more embarrassing, the makers of the show also showed their wedding night. However, some people didn’t find the episode controversial as the characters were only seen talking but imagining a little kid in the wedding night setup itself is disturbing.
