Bollywood actress Vidya Balan’s upcoming movie ‘Begum Jaan’ has been announced to release on January 6 next year.
The announcement was made by the Milind Dabke, head of Play Entertainment, which has produced the movie. Milind has stated that the movie will have a wide release.
“"'Begum Jaan' is a high-voltage denouement, a strong women protagonist commercial cinema, created by master craftsman Srijit Mukherji”, Milind Dabke added.
‘Begum Jaan’ is about the trauma faced by displaced women in a brothel during the Partition era.
The movie marks the Bollywood debut of National award winner director Srijit Sircar.
Interestingly, Vidya Balan will be seen playing the role of a madam in the brothel. The movie also features Naseeruddin Shah, Rajat Kapoor, Gauahar Khan, Pallavi Sharda, Ila Arun, Ashish Vidyarthi and Chunky Pandey.
Vidya Balan was last seen in 2015 release ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ opposite Emraan Hashmi.
