Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer “Badrinath Ki Dulhania”, which hit the cinemas today, has received overwhelming response from the audience and critics alike. Now, trade analysts have predicted that the desi romantic comedy film will beat Akshay Kumar’s “Jolly LLB 2” opening day record.
Latest buzz suggests that the film will become the second highest opener of 2017 after Shah Rukh Khan’s “Raees’.
Made on a moderate budget, BKD’s opening day figures will give it a good push since it has got every chance of recovering more than 80% of its cost in its first weekend itself.
According to trade analysts, Varun and Alia’s film has taken a good opening of 30-35%.
The morning shows in Mumbai and Gujarat are the second best of the year after “Raees” while in the North the opening is on par with Khiladi Kumar’s “Jolly LLB 2”, which is the second-best opening of the year as of now.
It was said that the difference between BKD and “Joly LLB 2” is that Varun-Alia’s film has got more going for it as compared to Akki’s film for the Friday morning audience while “Jolly LLB 2” picked up in the evening as it had nothing for the youth.
While “Jolly LLB 2” collected a little over Rs 13 crore on its opening day, it is expected that BKD will collect about Rs 15 crore, according to experts.
Varun and Alia are a favourite pair among the masses and their chemistry was bang on “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania”. And, now the second instalment BKD is likely to gain success and emerge as one of the most successful films of the year.
Well, it looks like “Badrinath” Varun and his ”Dulhania” Alia are going to have a blast this year and break several box-office records!
