Vicky Kaushal is on a winning-spree. First Raazi, then Sanju and Manmaziyaan, the versatile actor has now moved to a film based on a battleground. Kaushal will be next seen in Uri, which is based on surgical strikes that Indian army carried out in the neighbourhood lands to weed out terror launch pads in Pakistan. In the teaser released by the makers on a day before the second anniversary of the surgical strike, we get a glimpse of the blood-curdling events that took place in Uri on September 18, 2016.
Uri teasers shows an angry Paresh Rawal saying, “Yeh naya Hindustan hai, yeh Hindustan ghar me ghusega bhi aur maarega bhi.” The scorching remark was made in response to the heinous attack on 19 Indian Army personnel that took place 3 years ago. We see a gun-wielding Vicky Kaushal dressed in uniform, gunning down terrorists in an operation. The actor has gone through intense paramilitary training to add a touch of realism to his character.
Yami Gautam was nowhere to be seen in the teaser. The actress might be introduced in the trailer, which the makers might drop some time later.
Talking about Uri, Vicky Kaushal earlier said, “When this film came to me and we had this discussion. I was really thrilled and kicked about it because this is one story that I feel that everyone needs to know. One of the fantastic army operations that the Indian army has conducted and with great efficiency. I also feel it is a great opportunity and also a responsibility for all of us to portray this story.”
Uri is scheduled to release on January 11, 2019.
