Based on a true life event, Uri: The Surgical Strike starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam is spreading its charm at the box-office. Earning a decent Rs 7.73 crore on Wednesday, the total earning of Uri now stands tall at Rs 63.54 crore. If the film continues to earn good numbers, Uri will hit the coveted Rs 100 crore mark soon, making it the first Bollywood film of 2019 to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the latest Uri Box Office Collection, “UriTheSurgicalStrike is sensational... Crosses ₹ 60 cr... En route ₹ 100 cr Club... Is a SUPER-HIT. Uri is an action thriller film based on true incidents which along with Vicky Kaushal also stars Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Yami Gautam. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Uri is based on the 2016 surgical strike by Indian Army on Pakistan Administered Kashmir which was a retaliation for the Uri Attacks of September 2016.
Coming to the box-office battle, Uri is winning hands down against Aunpam Kher’s The Accidental Prime Minister, which ash managed to earn only Rs 14 crore, according to a Bollywood Hungama report.
Emraan Hashmi starrer Why Cheat India is all set to release this Friday. While Uri is enjoying its time with positive mouth of word publicity and Vicky Kaushal’s phenomenal acting, it will be interesting to see whether the release of Why Cheat India will affect Uri’s box-office collection.
