This Friday, Kabir Khan directorial ‘Tubelight’ was released. The much anticipated Salman Khan movie didn’t manage to garner positive reviews from the audience as well as critics. But the box office numbers are quite impressive, being the second-best opening of the year after Raees, which released in January this year. Popular film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted the first day collection of Tubelight along with the opening day earnings of Salman Khan’s previous ventures. Although, the graph shows a declining trend, but the box office numbers are expected to observe a surge post Eid, next week.
Here’s what he tweeted:

Looking at the opening day numbers of Salman’s previous films, Sultan still remains the best opening film in five years. If the trends were to be believed, Tubelight can be clearly seen as Salman Khan’s lowest opening among his last five ventures. The opening day collection is 50 per cent lesser than Baahubali: The Conclusion, despite the fact that Tubelight got 100 screens surplus than S.S. Rajamouli Magnum Opus. But the trade analysts predict the numbers to cross 300-crore, as the box office numbers will see an upward trend after the Eid festivities, which are falling coming Monday.
