Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Padnekar have reportedly teamed up for Neeraj Pandey’s forthcoming project ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’. The light hearted comedy movie is said to be based on PM Narendra Modi’s ambitious project Swachch Bharat Abhiyan.
For now, the fresh pairing of Akshay and Bhumi Padnekar in the film is something which is bound to excite the viewers. The duo is the latest to join the ongoing trend of casting never-before-seen actors on screen in Bollywood.
The pairing of Sidharth Malhotra-Katrina Kaif in ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ and Ranveer Singh-Vaani Kapoor in ‘Befikre’ has created a lot of buzz. Let’s see how Akshay and Bhumi would be able to pull it off.
The movie will go on the floors this year in December.
Whoa! Akshay Kumar to play ‘five’ characters in this physiological thriller
Director Neeraj Pandey had spilled the beans about the final lead pair of the movie in conversation with an entertainment portal.
"I am looking at Naam Shabana, Crack and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar have been finalized for the film Toilet : Ek Prem Katha " he said.
Interestingly, there were reports earlier that Bhumi has met Neeraj Pandey quite a few times for the film. Indeed it’s a big break for Bhumi, who came into limelight after ‘Dam Laga Ke Haisha’ with Ayushmann Khurana.
If we talk about Akshay, he had worked with Pandey before in two movies - ‘Baby’ and ‘Special 26’. Both of these films were hits and thus the expectations would be high from ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ as well.
Currently, Akshay Kumar is shooting for Jolly LLB 2, which is slated to release early next year.
