New Delhi: We told you that actor turned comedian Kapil Sharma’s new show saw a dramatic drop in the TRP in the second week. ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ started with a bang but could not retain fan following of the previous one.
However, one question which many want answer to is if Kapil’s show has fared well than ‘Comedy Nights Live’. This competition was obvious, given the way Kapil Sharma had a fallout with channel Colors. The much loved show, ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ ended abruptly and to fill in the void, Colors roped in Kapil’s rival Krushna Abhishek.
Given Kapil’s stardom and ardent fan following it was obvious to expect that his show will fare better than Krishna’s show in the TRP race. But, the recent numbers narrate a different story.
Yes, Kapil has beaten Krushna’s show but by an extremely small margin. BARC report suggests that ‘The Kapil Sharma Show' got the rating of 1.9 and Krushna Abhishek's 'Comedy Nights Live' garnered the rating of 1.7.
This margin is not something which can’t be bridged.
On its première episode, Kapil Sharma’s show defeated the epic love saga of Peshwa ruler Bajirao and Muslim warrior princess. On the TRP scale, where Kapil’s show scored bagged 3 rating points, while Bajirao Mastani lagged behind at 2.8, on 23 April.
But, Kapil’s show failed to keep up with the good start. The episode featuring ace badminton player Saina Nehwal was termed bland and Kapil has no celebrities for the upcoming episode
Definitely not good news for Kapil Sharma!
