Stree is ruling the box office, one shriek at a time. With all box office calculations and predictions gone for a toss, the horror-comedy has emerged as a winner. After raking in Rs 6.82 crore on its opening day, the Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer soared on its second Saturday, earning Rs 7.63 crore. Now, on the ninth day of its opening, Stree box-office collection stands at RS 72. 41 crore.
Taking to Instagram, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, “#Stree continues to dazzle... Gathers speed on Sat... Growth on Sat [vis-à-vis Fri]: 73.80%... Expectedly, Sun should score higher numbers... [Week 2] Fri 4.39 cr, Sat 7.63 cr. Total: ₹ 72.41 cr. India biz”.
For Rajkummar Rao, the film has emerged as a jackpot for sure as he would soon be finding himself placed in the list of actors who have delivered a 100 Crore success. On the other hand, Shraddha Kapoor too would be seeing third film of hers hitting a century after Ek Villain and ABCD 2.
Taran Adarsh also compared two recent films of Rajkummar Rao to Stree and their box office numbers in Australia.
In Stree, Shraddha apparently plays a ghost. The film is set in a small town, where men disappear mysteriously. Rajkummar Rao features as a tailor, who falls in love with Shraddha.
Stree, directed by Amar Kaushik, also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Aparshakti Khurrana in pivotal roles.
