With only four months left for 2018 to say goodbye to us, Bollywood is managing to shower the fans with great movies and brilliant performances. Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree, that hit the screens this weekend, is successful in impressing the audience with the tight storyline and of course the fans are pouring in all the love they can on them. After having an above expectation opening day, strong word-of-mouth has only helped increase the numbers and now after the first weekend, the film’s box office collection stands proudly at Rs. 31.26 crores.

Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh took to his social media to share Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer film’s latest collection and wrote, “All estimations and calculations go for a toss... #Stree wreaks havoc at ticket counters... Multiplexes, single screens, metros, mass circuits - this one has worked across the board... Fri 6.82 cr, Sat 10.87 cr, Sun 13.57 cr. Total: ₹ 31.26 cr. India biz.”

On the other hand, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se starring Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, which also released this weekend, failed to impress the critics and audience alike. Even legendary actor Dharmendra’s otherworldly charm couldn’t make the film work.

''Stree is a new experience for me. I've been doing very serious films like Omerta, Aligarh and Newton. But then I had fun doing Bareilly Ki Barfi and Fanney Khan where there were lots of laughs to lean on. Stree has just a bit of the spooky feeling and loads of laughter. It was fun to do. This is director Amar Kaushik's first feature. And the film is produced by Raj and DK who have directed one of my favourite horror comedies Go Goa Gone,'' Rao said in an interview.
