Sridevi dies at 54: Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan and others celebs share heartfelt posts
The news of Sridevi's death has come as a shock for everyone in the film industry.
Veteran actress Sridevi has passed away, a family member said. She was 54. The actress, who was in Dubai for a family function, reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest.
Confirming the news of her death, Sridevi's brother-in-law and actor Sanjay Kapoor, said: "Yes, it is true."
Sanjay, however, could not reveal more details as he was on his way to Dubai. Sridevi was in Dubai to attend the marriage function of actress Sonam Kapoor's cousin Mohit Marwah, along with husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor.
Sridevi has known for her performance is some of the iconic films like "Mr India", "Nagina", "Sadma", "Chaalbaaz", "Chandni" among many others. The Padma Shri recipient was last seen in "Mom" in 2017.

Filmmaker Karan Johar penned a heart-rending note for the beautiful actress. He wrote on Instagram: ''I danced to hawa Hawaii when I was in school.....I have seen every film of hers multiple times....I met her with shaking hands and feet on the sets of my fathers film GUMRAH....and felt I had arrived when she called me for the first time .....every time I met her I had a star struck moment and a fan boy vibe....I don’t think I can believe it...perhaps I don’t think I want to believe that she is no more... she is a huge reason I love the movies....I feel like Indian cinema just lost its smile....the heavens are fortunate they just inherited a gift of life.....heartbroken.....''
