Backing Abhijeet, Sonu Nigam bids adieu to Twitter

Singer Sonu Nigam has today announced that he will be quitting microblogging site Twitter.

Singer Sonu Nigam has today announced that he will be quitting microblogging site Twitter. In the series of tweets, the singer called the platform one-sided and also talked about Abhijeet and actor Paresh Rawal’s ongoing controversy.

Sonu stated that he is bidding adieu to his 6.5 million followers. He also talked about Paresh Rawal and Abhijeet’s issues going on social media. Sonu tweeted, “8 Accepted Arundhati has d right to her opinion about Kashmir, but then the other billion Indians have the right to feel Let Down too right?”

He also wrote, “A woman can endorse a picture of Gautam Gambhir in the front of the Army Jeep, & Paresh Rawal, Criticized for doing d same to someone else.”

The twitter account of Abhijeet was suspended after he posted series of offensive tweets against women.

He started his tweet asking people to get ready for screenshots. He even stated that his tweets may ignite new controversies.

Last month, Sonu’s tweets created controversy as he criticised the use of loudspeakers at mosques and temples. After the hullabaloo, the singer shaved his head in response to a fatwa issued by a Muslim cleric in West Bengal.

Many celebrities like Sunil Grover, Randeep Hooda and Divyanka Tripathi came out in support of Sonu and there were some, who also criticised him.
