Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer Simmba has set the box office on fire. In just three days, the Rohit Shetty directorial has already minted Rs 96.75 crores on the box office and has even crossed the 100 crore mark worldwide. There is no denying that after Padmaavat, fans were eagerly waiting to watch their favorite superstar Ranveer Singh in a new light and Simmba came as a breath of fresh air for not just the actor but for the fans as well. Adding to the buzz of the film, Sara Ali Khan brought more power to Simmba with her debut film Kedarnath doing wonders on the box office. This won't come as a surprise that Rohit Shetty's Simmba break all the existing records of his earlier films.
Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media to share the latest numbers of the film and wrote, "#Simmba is super-strong in international markets... 4-day Overseas total is close to ₹ 40 cr...Day 1: $ 1.884 mn....Day 2: $ 1.590 mn....Day 3: $ 1.492 mn....Day 4: $ 779k....Total: $ 5.745 mn [₹ 39.85 cr]"
Talking about the domestic market, Taran Adarsh posted, "#Simmba ends 2018 on a thunderous note... Records superb numbers on Mon [31 Dec]... Will continue its victory march today [1 Jan]... It’s #Simmba wave at the BO... Fri 20.72 cr, Sat 23.33 cr, Sun 31.06 cr, Mon 21.24 cr [better than Fri]. Total: ₹ 96.35 cr. India biz."
Also, Simmba has also registered as the fifth best worldwide opener of 2018 as it collected Rs 131 crore. On the opening day itself, Simmba raked in Rs 20 crore at the box office becoming Ranveer Singh’s highest opener ever, defeating Padmaavat. Padmaavat made Rs 19 crore on its day 1. Simmba also marks Rohit Shetty’s eighth film to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club. Last year, his release Golmaal Again also raked in Rs 200 crore at the Indian box office.
Simmba, directed by Rohit Shetty, is the Hindi remake of famous South Indian film Temper. It is a cop drama which is based on a corrupt cop who gets back on the righteous path after his sister is raped and murder.
