Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty's first collaboration Simmba is in no mood to slow down. The action drama which has already minted Rs 100 crore is on its way to enter Rs 200 crore. On second Saturday, Simmba earned Rs 13.32 crore bringing its total collection to Rs 173.15 crore. With no big releases in coming days, Simmba is likely to rake in Rs 200 crore without any disruption. Rohit Shetty's directorial opened with Rs 20.72 crore on its first day.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the collection of Simmba. He wrote, ''#Simmba is ruling the BO... Witnesses superb growth on second Sat... Expected to collect bigger numbers today... Will emerge Ranveer’s second highest grosser today, surpassing #BajiraoMastani... [Week 2] Fri 9.02 cr, Sat 13.32 cr. Total: ₹ 173.15 cr. India biz.''

Speaking about Simmba's huge success at the box office, Ranveer had earlier said in a statement, “The record-breaking opening of Simmba is for the entire team to cherish and I thank Rohit Shetty for believing in me and trusting that I can do his masala cop film convincingly. It was not an easy role to pull off, but I put my head down and put in the work and I am overwhelmed with the love that has been poured on Simmba. Rohit has an incredible hit ratio and he has hit Simmba out of the park. The success of the film belongs to him and his phenomenal team who are there for him and beside him at all times''.

The cop drama also starring Ashutosh Rana, Sonu Sood and Sara Ali Khan has all the elements of a masala Bollywood film. Though Simmba is entertaining, it lacks freshness. This time too, Shetty has refrained from experimenting and treated his audience with a film on similar lines of his previous directorial, Singham and Singham 2. Meanwhile, Simmba also has cameos of Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn.

On a related note, this is Rohit Shetty's eighth movie which has minted over Rs 100 crore. Simmba has also become Ranveer's fourth movie to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club. The other three movies are Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial.
