Shraddha Kapoor, who underwent rigorous training for Saina Nehwal biopic has now quit the project due to date issues. After the scheduling conflicts, Shraddha decided to leave the film on ace shuttler. Now, Parineeti Chopra has stepped into the shoes of Shraddha for her first sports drama. She will soon start her badminton training to learn the technicalities of the sports. On the other hand, Shraddha is currently shooting in London for Street Dancer.

The Amol Gupte directorial went on floors in September 2018 but soon the shooting was halted after Shraddha was diagnosed with dengue. She was supposed to resume shoot in April but due to pack schedule, Shraddha and makers have mutually decided to part their ways.

Shraddha is currently juggling between two movies- Chhichhore and Street Dancer. While she will complete the filming of Nitesh Tiwari's flick by month-end, Street Dancer's Mumbai scheduled is yet to be completed. The actress is also busy with her action-thriller Saaho, starring Prabhas. The movie is slated for August release and then, she will start shooting for Baaghi 3. “Despite everyone’s best efforts to accommodate the Saina biopic, dates were clashing, so it made sense for Shraddha to opt out. The decision was taken by mutual consent. Meanwhile, Parineeti loved the script and will start prep soon,” informed an insider to Mumbai Mirror.

Parineeti Chopra is quite delighted to portray a ''strong and powerful girl who has put the country on the world map''. She is all set for the hard work and exhaustive training.

Bhushan Kumar, who is one of the producers said, “We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent. We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics.”
