Actress Shraddha Kapoor met underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s family in Mehboob Studios, Mumbai on Tuesday, suggest media reports. Shraddha is all set to play the titular role in biopic ‘Haseena’ based on Dawood’s sister Haseena Parkar to be helmed by Apoorva Lakhia.
The children of Haseena- lishah, Umeria and Khushiyan and brother Sameer Antulay, paid a visit on the sets. An onlooker told a daily that the visit alarmed Shraddha initially but later the atmosphere became amiable.
Members of the family were reportedly happy with the way movie was being shot. They had also brought with them few belongings of Haseena which they gifted to Sharddha, like Haseena’s reading glasses, nose ring and favourite lipstick.
Ankur Bhatia, the actor who plays Haseena’s husband Ismail Parkar in the biopic, reportedly said that the entire experience was fulfilling. He said the family members showed him photographs of Haseena’s husband and explained to him what he was really like. They also gave him tips to perfect the role.
In the biopic, Shraddha Kapoor’s brother Sidhant essays the role of Dawood Ibrahim. On working with his brother Shraddha had earlier said that she was nervous and excited in equal proportions. She had said she will have to forget that he is her bhaiya on sets and concentrate on the filming.
‘Haseena’ will trace the journey of the Dawood’s sister from her teenage days to when she turned 40 years old. Haseena was in limelight in the underworld after her husband Ismail was allegedly shot by the Arun Gawli gang in 1991. She was said to became the ‘Godmother’ of the crime world with her hands in almost every business. From hawala rackets, extortion to negotiating overseas rights of Bollywood movies, Haseena was believed to be involved everywhere. She died of cardiac arrest in 2014.
